There seems to be so many ways to download TV shows that people become totally confused with how to do it. Here are a few steps for you to download TV shows through TiVO. First, you need to go to the menu of TiVO and utilize Messages and Settings. Go to the Media Access Key and look at the number once you have pressed the right arrow key. Log-in TiVO and download TiVO Desktop 2.3 and install the said application. The number you got from step one is actually your Media Access Key.

From TiVO, proceed to Manage My Account and find the menu button where you can choose and set your DVR preferences. Check the box for "Allow Transfers Once". Upon completion of the installation, launch the desktop and click on "Pick Recordings To Transfer".

From there, select the program you are looking for and activate the "Start Transfer" button. The download can take a couple of hours.
